What is considered animal abuse?

0

Tapping/lightly hitting the animal every so often (as long as not around the head or anything) to teach them right from wrong isn’t considered abuse. Constant hitting or hitting them hard enough to hurt the animal would be considered abuse. Usually a raise in voice is enough for the animal to know it has done wrong. Lot of people will tap their dog on the nose or at the top of their back leg/the behind to let them know as well, but any form of hitting can often be avoided. Does depend on the dog – some simply don’t listen to just a raise in your voice. But the line is crossed when the animal suffers because of it Edit: “also try what cesar millan does, basically put him on his side and hold him there till he calms down.” Tried that with my dog, but no matter what you do he has a long neck and just tries to eat you while squirming around (hard to keep him still and calm him down) lol. I swear he thinks if you have him on his side he should either get to eat you or you should be stroking
