What is considered a successful laser eye surgery?
Generally, success in refractive surgery means achieving uncorrected visual acuity of 20/40 or better. With the newer technology, however, this standard has been greatly refined. With your new eyesight, you will almost certainly be able to drive your car and engage in most, if not all, of your normal activities without any additional correction. We strive for 20/20 vision and usually achieve this correction or better. However, it is not possible to guarantee everyone will enjoy this level of clarity after laser eye surgery. Your outcome will depend upon many factors, and we will be glad to discuss our individual expectations for you at your initial examination.
