What is Conservation Use Valuation?
Owners of agricultural land, timberland and environmentally sensitive land may qualify for conservation use assessment under O.C.G.A. Section 48-5-7.4. The property owner enters into a 10-year covenant to maintain the qualifying use during the life of the covenant. Breaching a covenant can result in substantial penalties.
