What is Confined Space Rescue?
The St. Joseph Fire Department recently began Confined Space Rescue training. The department has purchased a large array of confined space rescue equipment that can be used in many rescue situations. These rescue incidents may involve removing trapped victims from sewers, underground working areas, tunnels, electrical shafts, and any where else an occupant can become overcome by noxious fumes. Members of the St. Joseph Fire Department have received extensive training in Confined Space Rescue and are fully prepared to handle most confined space rescue incidents.
