A computer virus is a malicious software program that wreaks havoc on your computer system. A virus can do anything from causing your computer to crash to causing it to reset whenever you open a particular program. It is however just a computer program that can be removed which is what virus software does. The thing that makes viruses so dangerous is that they are hidden and cannot be found and removed by normal means. Virus software locates the malicious program and removes it from your system without causing additional harm to your computer.
