Compare is when you take two or more items and determine the similarities they have. For example, taking two different books within the same genre and listing what they have that’s similar. Contrast is when you take two or more items and determine the differences they have. For example, reading a book that has been recently made into a film and seeing what one has and what the other doesn’t have.
