What is community property and how will it affect my current divorce?
Community property starts at the time the parties get married. Once you get married community property starts. All property that is purchased during marriage is presumed to be community property. So let’s say you buy a car, you buy the car and the husband making the payments out of his paychecks, its not the husbands car its the communities car. So that car you have an equal right to that car, you have also an equal right to pay the debt on the car, so community property debt and community property assets are shared presumably during the marriage.
