What is colon irrigation, colon hydrotherapy, colonics, or high enemas?
The use of water for internal cleansing of the colon (large intestine), without the use of drugs or chemicals. It is a process of softening the fecal material in the colon so it may be released. It is relaxing and clean. Colon irrigation, colon hydrotherapy, colonics are administered by an operator trained and accustomed to this work. It is not enough to know all about the colons and the principles of irrigation. The operator should also be familiar with the art of foot relaxation. Just as every part of the anatomy has nerve endings that are directly or indirectly associated with the colon, so are the soles of the feet related, directly or indirectly, to the anatomy. Colonics are, in effect, glorified enemas using many gallons of water, several ounces at a time and are given by the colonic operator, usually a Certified Colon Therapist, with the water flow and expulsion under the control of the operator, while the patient lies relaxed on an appropriate table which is connected with the
