What is collision, comprehensive and liability coverage?
Who are the claimants and insured? What is subrogation? When the insurance company says my car is a total loss, what does that mean? Probably, most repair facilities encounter these types of questions from their customers. This handy reference bulletin is available from ASA and should assist in answering those type of questions, saving time and money plus increasing your CSI. ASA understands that their members do not want to be fraudulent in the way they handle claims. Nor do our members want customers to encourage them to create fraud by “burying the deductible.” When a consumer purchases an insurance policy, they sign a contract saying they will pay the first amount of the claim up to their deductible. Repairers should not be asked to hide a deductible. That practice should constitute fraud by both the shop and the consumer.
