Cold Laser Therapy, also known as Low Level Laser Therapy or Soft Laser Light Therapy, helps to reduce the pain and promote healing by increasing the energy levels of certain cells in the body and accelerating cell growth. Cold Laser Therapy involves the application of low-intensity lasers to painful areas of the body. These lasers stimulate the production of endorphins, which are normally naturally present in the brain and adrenal glands and which help block the transmission of pain signals to the brain. This, in effect, alleviates the sensation of pain and helps the patient to relax. Low level lasers also stimulate blood and lymph circulation, which helps promote healing in painful, damaged tissue, thus accelerating the rate at which the body heals. These low level lasers do not produce any heat and hence no damage is caused to the skin or to the underlying tissues.
