What is Coit Tower and Lombard Street?
On Day 5, the bus will take us to Telegraph Hill in San Francisco. You can either walk up the hill to Coit Tower or take the local bus (cost: $1.50). Coit Tower was completed in 1933. It is 210 feet tall and is said to offer the most panoramic view of San Francisco. There are also some beautiful art deco murals in the tower. After we do Coit Tower, our bus will take us to the top of Lombard Street where you can walk down and the bus will pick us up at the bottom. Lombard Street is advertised as the crookest street in the world. There was a very famous movie chase scene from the motion picture Bullitt starring Steve McQueen filmed on Lombard Street. 4. Tell me about the Hearst Castle. I was there when I was a kid and it is amazing. It is over 90,000 square feet with 56 bedrooms, 41 fireplaces, 61 bathrooms and 19 sitting rooms.
