What is Civilization III?
Civilization III is the turn based strategy game of our generation. From building your first settlement in 4000 BC to launching cruise missiles halfway across the continent, Civilization is the gold standard in strategy games. It’s almost hard to describe a game of this magnitude if you’re not familiar with the series. As the player you have ultimate control of your cities and military units, and the territory you occupy. You build up your cities and use your military to conquer other players, while researching more advanced ways to build your cities and conquer other players. The diplomatic route is available as well, although it’s probably the portion of the game that is the least used, because let’s face it, every other civilization is full of evil bigots, and they all need to die. What does this game do well? Civilization III has done a good job of streamlining the research tree so that you can move to the next “age” without necessarily researching every tech.
