What is CISD’s curriculum (Secondary)?
CISD’s new secondary school, which opened in September 2009 at the new Rayyan Campus, offers programmes for students aged 11 and 13 (Year 7 to Year 9). The secondary school will be built on the foundations provided by the National Curriculum of England. The learning programme will include English, mathematics, science, history, geography, modern foreign languages (Dutch and French), information and communications technology, art and design, music, citizenship and physical education. Learning will be differentiated to ensure that it is appropriate to the individual needs of students. In subsequent years, the school plans to add Years 10 to 13. Students will follow a secondary programme leading towards the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) from Cambridge International Examinations in Year 11 and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in Years 12 and 13 for university entrance.
