What is Chinese acupuncture?
Acupuncture dates back as far 3000 years. Literally, it means “needle piercing”. Very thin needles are inserted into designated spots on the body. The needles can be stimulated in many ways to promote the flow of qi (vital energy). Acupuncture is based on the belief that health is achieved by maintaining the body in a “balanced state” determined by the balance flow of qi. Disease is due to an internal imbalance. This imbalance leads to a blockage in the flow of qi along pathways known as meridians. The aim, adjust the “vital energy” to remove the blockage and promote the free flow of qi. This helps the body heal itself.
