What is Child support to cover?
I’m not a parent but from watching Judge Judy what I understand is that the parent who receives child support can spend it any way. It would naturally go towards household costs and whatever the parent needs to spend the money on to enable her to support her child – from clothes to house bills to food to school supplies or her work clothes so she can go to work and make money so it’s none of the ex’s business. As for your travel cost – unless it is in writing by the court I’ve never heard of a mother making a drive to take the kid to see the father especially if you’re not being paid extra for the fuel! The child support he pays YOU is not for him to be able to see the child by you driving him to him!!! That is ridiculous and I would stop doing that right away. You can ask him to pay for fuel and car expenses and your time and trouble for doing that IF you really do want to make the drive, otherwise he should arrange to drive down here himself or move closer.
