What is changing in Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia as a result of this action?”
The only things changing are that Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonias national leaders will no longer attend meetings of the Professional Fraternity Association or pay dues to that organization. No local changes in the character or mission of our organization will occur, and the activities and involvement of our chapters in music departments and musical activities will be unaffected. Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia will continue to consider its closest counterparts to be the other music fraternities, and will continue to interact with them both locally and as part of the National Interfraternal Music Conference (NIMC). Membership in PFA (or lack thereof) in no way determines our classification; though we anticipate questions from campus administrators about our decision, reclassification of our chapters campus registration should not be necessary.
