What is chain of continuity in forensic photography?

1

Like all evidence a chain of custody must be maintained for crime scene photographs. Therefore the Forensic Photographer will need to document where and when he took the picture, who he handed it over to, e.g. the film developer or computer technician who developed the film. The developer will then need to document how they developed the film, any techniques of enhancement used and who they handed the developed picture to, e.g. the detective looking at the case. This complete “chain of continuity” or “chain of custody” is required if a picture is to be admissible in a Court of Law as evidence. Hope that helps.
