What is “Ceramic” tile?
It is one of mans oldest, and most durable building materials. Ceramic tiles have survived from ancient Babylon and Egypt. They are made of clay and minerals dug from the earth and fired at very high temperatures (over 2,000 degrees F ) Tile on walls and floors are considered to be the most durable, and clean surface of all standard building materials. TRADITIONAL “CERAMIC TILE” IS MADE BY COATING A FLAT CLAY SURFACE WITH A SILICA OR PORCELAIN SURFACE AND THEN FIRING IT IN AN OVEN.
