What is Centering Prayer Network Australia?
The Centering Prayer Network Australia (CPNA) was formed at a national meeting of leaders of Centering Prayer Groups held at the Janssen Spirituality Centre in Boronia, Victoria, on Sunday, 8 March 2009. Centering Prayer Network Australia shares the same vision as Contemplative Outreach Groups around the world, namely: It is a spiritual network of individuals and small faith communities across Australia. The members of these communities endeavor to live the contemplative dimension of the Gospel. Many of these praying groups are ecumenical and provide a warm and welcoming environment for christians of all denominations to pray together Our purpose is to share the method of Centering Prayer and its immediate conceptual background. We also encourage the practice of Lectio Divina, particularly its movement into Contemplative Prayer, which a regular and established practice of Centering Prayer facilitates.
