What is Celiac Spruce (Gluten Intolerance, Gluten Sensitive)?
Celiac disease is a medical condition in which the absorptive surface of the small intestine is damaged by a substance called gluten. This interferes with digestion and as a result they have trouble absorbing nutrients from food such as protein, fat, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals. Gluten is a protein found in wheat, rye, triticale, barley and possibly oat products. Symptoms can vary from person to person and may include anemia, chronic diarrhea, constipation, fatigue and malnutrition. A life long gluten free diet is the only treatment for Celiac disease.
