When the federal or state government establishes appliance and equipment standards, they are setting the bar for minimum energy efficiency of products. The goal of Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE), is increased adoption of energy-efficient technologies. To qualify for the CEE product lists, models must meet the efficiency specifications developed by CEE.
