The basic insurance policy is 3rd/theft party with an excess figure. If your car is damaged or stolen you will be liable for the excess amount, with the amount depending on the vehicle type. CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) Insurance (sometimes referred to as “Waiver Excess”) is an optional insurance which protects you in the event of damage to your hire car or theft of the car i.e. you do not have to pay the excess figure. The cost is 6&#8364/day. There are items not covered such as tyre damage & loss of keys. (see Terms & Conditions for details of the excess figures).
