What is CD-R and CD-RW?
CD-R is short for Compact Disc Recordable. Its a write once and read multiple media. We cant reuse a CD-R. It is made up of polycarbonate substrate, a layer of organic dye, a metalized reflective layer and a protective lacquer coating. CD-RW is a write multiple read multiple technology that can be written up to 1000 times which is designed for daily back-up & short term storage. The structure of the disc has a polycarbonate substrate layer, a protective layer and a reflective metal layer, plus two dielectric layers and a layer of phase-changing metal alloy.
