What is CBEST?
California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST) is administered by the National Evaluation Systems (NES). The examination consists of basic reading, writing and math skills. Application packets for the CBEST are available at any school district office, the county office of education and at most of the colleges and universities in the area.Internet registration is available. To register online, go to http://www.cbest.nesinc.com/. If you are applying for an Emergency Permit, the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST) must be taken and passed prior to submitting your application. Trained out-of-state teachers applying for their first CA teaching credentials are provided with a one-year grace period to successfully pass the examination. The grace period begins on the date of the credentials application and terminates after a period of one-year. The CBEST Test is given approximately every other month. You may pick up a registration packet at the TTUSD Human Resources Office. Regi
