What is causing Hondas Airbag recall?
Honda’s problems spur from a faulty drivers-side airbag deployment system. The airbag may inflate with too much pressure causing shards to hit the driver. Serious injury or even death may occur. This makes nearly 1 million recalled Hondas since 2008. 378,000 cars recently recalled are in the United States. The faulty airbags affect Honda’s 2001 and 2002 Accord sedans, Civic compacts, Odyssey minivans, CR-V small sport utility vehicles as well as some 2002 Acura TL sedans. The failure has caused 1 death and 11 injuries thus far in the United States. Honda also recently recalled a number of their hatchbacks because of a problem with water leaking into the power window mechanism. This would eventually cause the electrical components in the windows to fry out or simply overheat. This recall affected 646,000 cars worldwide.
