What is causing a rubbing/grinding noise on my 2001 Nissan Maxima?

I have a 2001 Nissan Maxima- 75,200 miles. Lately when starting from a cold start and I turn left, I hear a thump from the driver’s side front. Lately I hear a grinding/rubbing noise from the passenger front. I had the strut towers replaced but the dealer said the struts are fine. What can be causing this? It usually happened on turns and accelarating up to 25 mph. Past 25 it stops. Thanks. A: Sounds like you have bad passenger side front wheel bearing. If you turn left, which would shift the weight to the side and it causes the noise to become louder and also as your getting up to speed more than likely its the bearings. If it is the bearing and you need to get the replaced I would recommend getting them both done as the other one will probably go soon as well. Wheel bearings are what allows the wheels to spin freely. It will probably cost a couple hundred to get them done unless your mechanically inclined.
