What is Catalog Choice’s fundamental position on catalogs and other direct mail?
We support mailings that are desired by the recipient. We acknowledge the benefits that catalog shopping provides the consumer; time savings, convenience, and even some environmental benefits. Catalogs also give the consumer the ability to identify niche and hard-to-find products. Many of us are catalog shoppers ourselves. Direct mail also gives smaller companies and organizations the opportunity to compete with large ones in the areas of fundraising and communications. Our mission is to reduce the amount of all types of unwanted mail by providing consumers with a free and convenient mail preference service.
