What is CargoMax™?
The CargoMax™ program is a computerized system for planning and evaluating a ship’s loading condition. It calculates ship stability and stress characteristics based on a loading condition specified by the user. The database is developed from technical information that reflects the physical characteristics of the ship. This information includes the hull form, compartment definitions, cargo capacities, allowable shear forces and bending moments, and a light ship weight distribution. The use of this information allows the development of input screens that support quick and efficient entry of ship loading data. CargoMax™ allows the user to store loading conditions on a disk. These stored conditions can be recalled at any time for modification and re-evaluation. In addition, stored loading conditions can be sent ashore for review and analysis on a shore-based computer. This might include stowage, cargo evaluation, or salvage analysis with HECSALV.
