Canton is part of the Rouge River Watershed because all of the land in Canton ultimately drains to the Rouge River. The Canton community continuously demonstrates environmental excellence by taking great strides to improve the quality of the Rouge River and its tributaries. The creation of the Canton Watershed Management Strategy has been used to provide the framework for implementing activities that address storm water quality in the community.
