What is “Called to Common Mission?”
“Called to Common Mission” is the name of the agreement adopted by the 1999 Churchwide Assembly of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America to establish a relationship of full communion between the ELCA and The Episcopal Church. The agreement would open the way for cooperative mission efforts where appropriate. Mutual recognition of ordained ministers of each church body would allow for their service in settings of cooperative ministry.
