What is Call Spoofing or Caller ID Spoofing or Call Display Spoofing?
Caller ID Spoofing allows a person to call or SMS to any phone number and show any phone number he wish on receivers call display. And allows the person to change to male/female voice also. To use caller id spoofing customers have to register in spoofing providing websites and have to purchase spoof minutes. Earlier people were using these techniques to have fun with their friends. But now many are using these for illegal activities like black mailing a person or for getting recommendations from any VIP or to get money. Caller ID spoofing also has been used in purchase scams on web sites such as Ebay. In February 2008, a man from US was arrested for making threatening phone calls to women and having their home numbers appear on their caller ID to make it look like the call was coming from inside the house.
