What is caipirinha?
Caipirinha is Brazil’s national drink. In Portuguese, the word Caipirinha literally translates to “hillbilly”. It is a mixture of Cachaca, squeezed lime, sugar and ice. It is a unique sweet and sour drink. Because of all the sugar, a typical Caipirinha has 500 calories. If you are counting calories, ask your barman to make it with “adocante” (sweet and low).
