What is cacao?
Cacao is the fruit from which chocolate is made. Cacao grows on cacao trees found mostly in the tropical regions of Africa and Latin America. The fruit, often referred to as the cacao pod, is about the size of a pineapple and contains dozens of large beans. It is these beans that are used in the production of chocolate products. This name can be found in the source-code in numerous places, in particular in the java package names and in the name of the administrative CLI, however, this is not the name of the open-source project or of any products shipped by Sun. In particular, this project should not be confused with another open-source project by the name of ‘cacaovm’ (http://www.cacaovm.org) which is an open-source Java virtual machine.
