What is Businesss LEAP?
The Business LEAP program (B-LEAP) consists of a two-semester sequence, which forms the core of the LEAP experience. In the first semester of B-LEAP, students take UGS 1100. This course focuses on how concepts of ‘community’ have developed and been implemented in the American experience, chiefly by studying the way individuals have perceived their relationship with and obligations to community and how they have defined who counts as members of their communities. In the second semester of B-LEAP students take UGS 1101, which examines how business ethics are practiced in a variety of settings. Students who complete UGS 1100 and UGS 1101 enjoy the benefit of them counting for a Humanities and Diversity requirement (both required to satisfy U of U general education requirements). These two courses will also satisfy one of the pre-business requirements (students choose to have the course count for one of the following Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology).
