What is buck teeth?
Buck teeth is the condition whereby the lower teeth protrude over the upper teeth. (This is opposite of what I was raised thinking buck teeth was in humans.) The teeth, not meeting as usual, fail to wear away as normal and continue to grow. Soon the top and bottom teeth will grow to a length preventing the rabbit from chewing. Other than the obvious visual indications of buck teeth, the animal will often stop eating, drool, and loose weight. Q: It’s not really a disease, but what about ear mites? I have a rotating case of them in my rabbitry for sometime now. I’m also a newby, so please assume I know nothing. A: Ear mites are caused by tiny bugs (mites) that burrow into the skin in the ears. Their damage causes the ears to weap a bloody, serous drainage which they feed on. Like other insects of this type their breathing organs are located at the rear of their bodies so they can breathe while burrowing in the skin. This weak point can be capitalized on by blocking their respiratory orga
