What is bridging funding?

0

Bridging funding is the use of departmental funds to support staff during short gaps in external funding. The purpose of bridging funding is to retain long serving staff who have valuable skills and experience of ongoing benefit to the College. Bridging funding may be used to underwrite continued employment where (a) external funds support the work of the employee but there is a short gap in continued funding or (b) where the current role is ending but redeployment is available or likely to be available in the near future.
