What is Bracket Randomization and How Does it Work?
Bracket Randomization is a new process of placing Halo 3 and Gears of War 2 Championship Bracket Teams. Based on their groupings, Teams in the Top 16 will be placed randomly into one of the four bracket quadrants. Because of the new Rolling Rank Points System, seeds will likely remain more stable throughout the season. Bracket Randomization aims to combat the chance that the same match-ups could occur from one Live Competition to the next. The first and second seeded teams, based on Rolling Rank Points, will be placed in the top and bottom spots of the bracket respectively. All other teams will be placed into groups, based on their seeds, and then randomly placed into one of the four quadrants. These groups are in order to assure that the quality of opponent stays similar across the quadrants. The groupings are as follows: Group 1: Seeds 3 and 4 Group 2: Seeds 5-8 Group 3: Seeds 9-12 Group 4: Seeds 13-16 To clarify, this does not mean that the brackets will be completely random. You wi
