What is Brachioplasty/ Arm Tuck surgery?
Brachioplasty is the surgical procedure which is used for successful arm size reduction when variations of liposuction are not viable options. The elasticity of the skin and the amount of excess fat in the arms are major factors in determining which surgical procedure is best for the reduction of the upper arms. If a patient has good skin elasticity, lacks stretch marks, and has no significant history of major weight loss and gain, then liposuction may be an acceptable option for the reduction of arm size. We are seeing especially successful results with the advancements in liposuction technologies such as with the Smartlipo MDX. How is Brachioplasty performed? A long incision is made extending from the armpit to near the elbow and excess fat and skin are surgically removed. The location of the scars is predictable but the thickness and color are not.
