What is Bluefield Ranch Mitigation Bank?
Bluefield Ranch Mitigation Bank (BRMB) is a 2,675 acre parcel of land located in St. Lucie and Martin Counties that is being restored to its historic mosaic of wetland and upland systems. The Bank has been awarded a state Mitigation Banking Permit (#56-00002-M) with 1,240.32 credits, 721.57 of which are classified as forested and 518.75 of which are classified as herbaceous. It has also been awarded 1,522.34 credits under Federal Banking Permit #200002935 (IP-TA), of which 885.66 are classified as forested and 636.68 are herbaceous. The Bank will also be enhancing and restoring upland habitat and vegetation as well as participating in the South Florida Multi-Species Recovery Plan. BRMB is certified habitat for relocation of the Gopher Tortoise and Indigo Snake and may qualify for other species as well. What environmental impacts can Bluefield Ranch mitigate?
