What is blended learning?
A Blended Learning class is one in which you do the reading and written portion online at your convenience, and then come to a scheduled in-seat class to do your skills practice with an Instructor. You can register and pay for Blended Learning classes the same way you would register and pay for an in-seat class.
Blended learning, in the Skillogy Perform context, provides a learning process that combines an element of self-managed development, group interaction, on-line support and instructor-led workshops (normally delivered as part of a corporate development programme). On-line interactive modules provide the self-managed learning and the learner works through a module at a time, working at their own pace and arranged to fit in with their other commitments. Target dates for review are set and monitored by the Learning Adviser.
Blended learning is the combination of multiple approaches to learning. Blended learning can be accomplished through the use of ‘blended’ virtual and physical resources. A typical example of this is a combination of technology-based materials and face-to-face sessions used together to deliver instruction. The Workshop on Blended Learning and Higher Education is a national workshop dedicated solely to the research, pedagogy and implementation of blended learning. Expert presenters will share their experiences with blended learning; discuss where blended learning is headed in coming years; and discover how blended learning can increase access at your institution.
