What is Blackboard CE 8.01?
Blackboard is a powerful web based Learning Management System that is run on a Java Platform that allows faculty to add resources online for their students. This is also known as WebCT formerly. All faculty and students are assigned to a Blackboard course shell through the Banner system. In the future we will provide the configuration for grades to be sent back to Banner instead of manually being input by faculty to INB. As soon as Academic Affairs assigns faculty to the class it shows up immediately in Blackboard. Also once changes have been made to the schedule it is reflected in Blackboard soon after it is added to Banner. All students will show up in the courses Grade Book as soon as they register online or at the registrar’s office. Blackboard provides user authentication that allows only students and the instructor to view materials online by logging in with their credentials.
