What is BiotextMiner?
BiotextMiner, as of now, is a webserver utility that can be used by researchers to mine (extract) Protein-Interaction (PI) information from unstructured text such as scientific literature. BiotextMiner is designed with the aim of providing annotators and researchers a tool that they can test and apply for their PI task in a user friendly manner. BiotextMiner provides two types of access to the remote user: i) browser access, and ii) command line access. Typically, browser access can be used for lightweight jobs while command line access can be used for heavyweight jobs. Command line access will allow users to run the BiotextMiner webutility remotely on their computer and also save the results locally by default. The webutility allows the user to also call BiotextMiner from his programs if required. In the future, we will provide functions for extracting other type of information important for biomedical research. • What is the definition of a PI? We define PI as a pair of two interacti
