What is Biomedical Engineering at the undergraduate level?

0

At the undergraduate level Biomedical Engineering (BME) offers an additional degree with any of the five traditional engineering departments (Chemical Engineering, Civil & Environmental Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering). How does the additional major program work? How can a student complete the additional major and fulfill the biomedical engineering course requirements, and still complete a traditional engineering major degree? The department has undertaken a significant undergraduate curriculum revision. Many of the courses you will take to fulfill the Biomedical Engineering track electives are required in your primary department. During the spring semester of your freshman year, you will be asked to declare your major. At this time you declare your primary Major with an additional major in Biomedical Engineering. See Hilda Diamond in Doherty Hall 2100, to declare the BME additional major.
