What is Big Brothers Big Sisters of America?
Big Brothers Big Sisters of America is a national federation with more than 500 affiliated agencies throughout the United States. Founded in 1904, Big Brother Big Sister volunteers have introduced boys and girls to new horizons and fun experiences and memories that last a lifetime. A cornerstone of the Big Brothers Big Sisters philosophy is this: the time an adult spends one-to-one with a child makes a difference in the child’s life. Each one-to-one match between a Big Brother or Big Sister and a Little Brother or Little Sister is supported by professional agency staff, with a special focus on the child’s needs. A national study proves that our work helps children improve academically, avoid drug and alcohol abuse, gain self-confidence and improve relationships with others. Help us continue to make a difference by Bowling for Kids’ Sake.
