After reviewing both product websites and the features of each product, I prefer Leapfrog’s Leapster 2. The V.Smile Pocket by VTech is able to be connect to the TV, which creates a larger viewing screen. The Leapster 2 can be can be connect to a computer to play extra online games and activities to earn rewards, a free service. Another great feature of the Leapster 2 is the free online tool for parents called LeapFrog Learning Path. The Learning Path enables parents to see the skills their child has been working on and if the skills have been mastered or are still a challenge. This information can be shared with teachers. Both products won the National Parenting Publications Awards (NAPPA) Honors Awards, 2005 for the V.Smile Pocket and 2008 for the Leapster 2.
