This is one of those “apples vs. oranges” questions. It depends entirely upon personal taste. The ‘Amazing’ version has the advantage of having been around for over a generation, with a solid, if convoluted back-story, as well as having been sufficiently popular to inspire the ‘spin-off’. The ‘Ultimate’ version has the advantage of being relatively recent, and easily accessible, as well as being set in the relative present, so that it doesn’t need to deal with Peter Parker having been in high school during the Kennedy administration. ‘Amazing’ has got the disadvantage of a lo-oonng story line, constructed by multiple writers not always on the same page.
