What is best solution to ever increasing traffic load on our roads?

Simply put, reduce traffic load. This means drive less. Of course telling people to drive less doesn’t work well, there needs to be changes to make it better to just walk, bike or bus. The way cities have been built (thanks to the car) means walking is not feasible, buses are slow and biking is still too far… Cities need to be built denser, close enough that you might as well just walk. Many cities in the world are extremely dense, and these cities have fewer roads, but hundreds of times more people. The point is to make it so that it makes little or no sense to drive at all. This can actually be done easily. Existing land can be redeveloped into high density communities. Transit, parks and paths need to be added to make it all work. There’s also a few nice side effects. Lower crime, lower pollution, more greenspace, better health and lower taxes are known sideeffects of these communities too!
