What is “best practice” guidance?
The PRINCE2 method was originally devised by a consortium of project management experts, including public sector managers, academics, private consultants and business leaders from across Europe. Its guidance was established on the concept of “best practice” – that is, there are specific ways of doing things (in this case, managing projects) that maximise the likelihood of success. The PRINCE2 project management best practices encapsulate the experience of those project management professionals in order to assist and enlighten new project managers facing similar situations and challenges.
