Bench spots allow managers to carry more players than the bare minimum they need to fill out the starting lineup. For example, a manager may fill his bench spot with a promising prospect who he will fill into the starting lineup should his big star get injured. Benched players do not earn fantasy points for their manager. Please note that bench spots are not position specific.
