What is Beit Romano?
Beit Romano today houses Yeshivat Shavei Hevron, a high-level yeshiva with over 200 students. The building was constructed in 1873 by Haim Romano, a Jew from Turkey. It was later home to the Sde Hemed, Rav Haim Hezkiah Medini, and later to Yeshivat Torat Emet, the biggest Chabad Yeshiva in Eretz Yisrael. For more information see: http://www.hebron.org.il/sites.
